Let’s talk.

LESLIE CUNNINGHAM

I've been interested in people's stories for as long as I can remember. Both of my grandmothers emigrated to this country at the age of 16 -- one from Sweden, the other from Russia --  neither speaking a word of English.  I sat at their knees for hours on end, asking questions. I had the foresight to record my Swedish grandmother's memories and my own daughter loves hearing them today.

All my life, friends have commented to the effect of, "You learn more about someone in 10 minutes than I've known after 30 years of friendship." A lot of that is due to the fact that I am genuinely fascinated by each and every person I encounter. And I seem to have a gift for putting people at ease.

I've spent the last 15 years as a professional photographer, specializing in visually preserving life's special moments: weddings, engagements, mitzvahs, and families. That's actually another way of getting to know people in an intimate way. And, interestingly, my Swedish Nana influenced me there, too. She was the family historian and never without her Brownie box camera.

Prior to life as a photographer, I was in marketing and public relations. During those years I interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives, and others to tell their stories. I became a very proficient interviewer... and listener.

I'm a life-long Californian, and enjoy travel (of course, meeting people along the way!), ethnic restaurants, independent movies, and deep friendships.

If you have questions or special inquiries, please contact me via this form. I'll get back to you just as soon as possible.
